The Hampton Halfway was first established in 1863 by Mr. Michael Kelly and for many years was known as "Kelly's Halfway House", or "Kelly's Imperial Half-way House". Over time The Halfway has been reconstructed many times and it is now a modern day building that  still retains some of the original structure and heritage features.
